Tom began his planning career in 1999 at Hertsmere Borough Council, having graduated from the University of Westminster with a Degree in Town Planning and a Postgraduate Diploma in Urban Planning. Since then he has worked at a wide range of Local Planning Authorities as well as in Planning Consultancy.
Tom has an excellent understanding of the planning system from both public and private perspectives, and has been involved in large housing developments, flatted schemes and commercial proposals, as well as many smaller householder schemes. His previous work also includes applications for the discharge of conditions, as well as a large number of pre-application submissions for various proposed developments.
Tom has particular expertise in appealing refused planning applications and in preparation and submission of planning applications, having dealt with diverse issues including the Green Belt, the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, listed buildings and conservation areas.
