Ellen is a heritage consultant and historian specialising in documentary archival research across the UK for conservation specialists, architects and other property professionals as well as private homeowners. The core of her work provides essential architectural and historical information to support planning applications and requests for listed building consent.
Ellen is an alumna of the Architectural Association School of Architecture. There she attained the Postgraduate Diploma in the Conservation of Historic Buildings in 2006. She later completed an MA in Historical Research at Birkbeck College in 2014. She had graduated with honours in Politics, Philosophy and History from the same college in 2001.
Ellen is a member of the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain (SAHGB) and an Affiliate member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC). In 2013 she was elected as a Guardian for the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, and in 2014 was invited to be a trustee of the Zibby Garnett Travel Fellowship. In 2016 she became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
